Well, I found this article amusing. Here are the 5 situations as outlined by the author Shannon Mallon:
1. You aren't posting anymore
2. You're not enjoying it
3. You've given it time
4. Not succeeding
5. You're busy with new work.
So I decided to gather other opinions on this topic, and found this blog (of course, a blog) on Why I Quit Blogging (and What to Do if You're Struggling). Another interesting read.
And of course, the Nancy's Point blog intrigued me (although it is a blog about breast cancer and loss, we had name synergy going down, and she ranked high in Google searches.) In When Bloggers Stop Blogging, Nancy was talking about the loss of bloggers that she follows, and it was starting to become clear to me no one would write such as a blog if I stopped blogging. Talk about ego adjustment.
And now here is another blog about blogging (or the end of blogging). Or maybe it's just a temporary thing.
The jury's still out on this one.
